The Supervisor II, Facilities & Maintenance’s primary responsibility is to maintain, improve and control the safe and efficient function of the plant manufacturing and facilities equipment; to establish and manage preventative maintenance systems, schedules, and documentation and to manage all programs pertaining to the areas of safety, quality, cost, and delivery within the department.
Job Responsibility
Supervise maintenance and facilities activities supporting a two-shift, manufacturing operation
Plan, prioritize, and schedule corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance activities using the CMMS
ensure accurate documentation, PM execution, and spare parts management
Develop and maintain PM/PdM programs in compliance with FDA 21 CFR Part 820, GMPs, and site quality requirements
Monitor equipment performance, OEE, downtime, and reliability data
perform root cause analysis and implement actions to improve equipment availability and reliability
Support CAPA and NCR investigations, utilizing structured root cause analysis tools
Oversee maintenance of new and existing manufacturing equipment to ensure validated/qualified state and timely return to service
Manage maintenance budgets, equipment expenditures, purchase orders, and expense forecasting
Oversee contracted facility services and outsourced maintenance activities
Lead maintenance staffing activities including scheduling, training, performance management, employee relations, and hiring decisions
Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering to ensure smooth project transitions into daily operations
Promote a safe, compliant, and ethical work environment through adherence to safety policies, company standards, and regulatory requirements
Plan and execute maintenance activities for scheduled shutdowns and plant closures as required
Deliver excellent customer service through effective communication and cross-functional collaboration
Minimum 2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
Must have experience leading a team
Be familiar with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma concepts
Understand the design, installation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic equipment that support a complex manufacturing plant
Have a thorough knowledge of manufacturing equipment, using blueprints, equipment manuals, specifications, standard operating procedures, and be able to use proper judgment when taking corrective actions during equipment malfunction
Have working knowledge of hazardous chemicals and their disposal, OSHA, EPA, and FDA requirements
Must have very strong verbal and written communication skills, documentation practices (cGDPs), be self-motivated and possess strong interpersonal skills
Must be able to update procedures and modify processes to simplify their complexity and improve efficiency
Must be able to wear personal protective equipment: Gown, hood, eye glasses, gloves, shoe coverings
Must be comfortable working in a clean room environment
Physical requirements: must be able to sit, stand, and walk throughout the day. May need to push or pull no more than 10 pounds. Subject to moderate to high noise levels that may require speaking loudly to be heard
