This role is responsible for governing and maintaining the integrity of Global Ledger master data and close processes, partnering closely with Finance, Technology, and other cross-functional teams. The position leads process improvements, supports month-end close and consolidations, and ensures compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements while developing and coaching team members.
Job Responsibility:
Review and approve data governance requests for new or changed Global Ledger data elements
Streamline, redefine, and administer master data governance processes for the Global Ledger
Ensure strong data controls and compliance with GM corporate policies and external regulatory requirements
Review and approve Global Ledger (GAAP, Statutory, Tax) close activities and monthly reporting summaries
Use critical thinking to support month-end close and consolidations, troubleshooting issues with balances and submissions
Support and guide local ledger teams in resolving month-end issues, partnering with Transform teams as needed
Review daily Global Ledger AIF errors and CFINS monitoring reports, driving timely resolution
Lead identification of gaps in AIF, CFINS, and month-end close processes and implement sustainable solutions to reduce errors from local ledgers
Lead and oversee investigations of production issues, working with IT and business partners to implement system and/or process changes
Review and guide analysts through UAT for enhancements and process changes
Develop and implement UAT and validation test cases for enhancements and source system changes
Connect source data to Global Ledger enrichment and downstream data consumption, ensuring end-to-end data integrity
Build strong relationships with technology and business management, internal clients, and external stakeholders
Interact with and support stakeholders across impacted business units, Global Controller’s Team, and Global Finance Teams, including internal and external audits
Present updates and findings at monthly and ad hoc meetings
Train, develop, coach, motivate, and evaluate team members while managing multiple efforts across functions and organizational units
Complete responsibilities independently, exercising sound judgment and ownership
Requirements:
Deep understanding of SAP
Comfortable working with large data sets and complex processes, with the ability to explain how they work to diverse audiences
Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis, sustainable solutions, and process improvement
Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously in a cross-functional environment
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with both business and technology partners
Demonstrated leadership in coaching, training, and developing employees
