Under limited supervision, the Field Service Supervisor leads a team of field service technicians specializing in conveyor maintenance, and field installations. This role is responsible for ensuring safety, quality, and operational efficiency in the maintenance and repair of conveyor equipment. The supervisor must possess hands-on knowledge of conveyance technical skills including operating belt winders, vulcanizing presses, rigging, correct splice materials, and maintaining accurate records such as hazard assessments, field service reports, timekeeping. Additionally, the supervisor drives continuous improvement through training, adherence to SOPs, and KPIs.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and manage a team of field service technicians focused on conveyor maintenance and repair
Ensure the team strictly adheres to safety standards to maintain a safe work environment
Oversee quality control processes to guarantee all work meets technical and customer expectations
Drive efficiency by optimizing job scheduling, technician deployment, and work execution
Provide hands-on technical guidance and troubleshooting support related to conveyance equipment
Manage and maintain accurate records for training, certifications, splice materials usage, and timekeeping
Ensure all technicians receive proper and ongoing training on conveyance technologies, safety protocols, and equipment operation
Develop and implement best practices aligned with company SOPs, and KPIs
Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding new field technicians in collaboration with management
Participate in customer surveys, job reviews for quoting, and continuous customer satisfaction initiatives
Ensure availability of appropriate tools and equipment necessary for safe and successful job completion
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Associate's degree preferred or equivalent technical education
Minimum 5 years of experience in field service, with at least 3 years focused on conveyance systems or related mechanical repair
Demonstrated experience managing technical teams and field operations in conveyor maintenance
Proven leadership ability with experience managing and motivating field technicians
Skilled in maintaining safety compliance and promoting a culture of safe work practices
Excellent problem-solving skills with strong analytical abilities
Effective communication skills to train, coach, and manage a technical workforce
Ability to remain composed and decisive in challenging or emergency situations
Proficient in record-keeping
Willingness to work alongside technicians in the field and support shop operations
Must meet company policies for driving and comply with DOT requirements where applicable
Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and handle bulky equipment
Regularly performs activities such as neck and trunk rotation, stair climbing, bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching overhead, ladder climbing, and crawling
Excellent driving record preferred
Compliance with company vehicle policies which include continuous video monitoring
Must align with company’s drug-free workplace and customer regulatory requirements
