Job Description

BLS is seeking a professional with advanced technical skills in a variety of audit and tax areas with a strong nonprofit organization emphasis, including preparation and review of work papers, financial statements, and reports.

Job Responsibility

  • Planning, executing and supervising the full scope of audit and accounting engagements for a variety of nonprofit organizations
  • Performing technical review and analysis of financial statements
  • Primary liaison between the client and the Manager or Director
  • Staying compliant with pronouncements of professional and other regulatory groups
  • Mentoring of new staff on assignments, while simultaneously performing efficiently on engagements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 5-7 years public accounting experience in an audit or accounting environment with emphasis on nonprofit auditing
  • CPA certification
  • Strong supervisory experience and client relations skills
  • Working knowledge of nonprofit audit compliance
  • Ability to travel to same-day work at client locations
  • Ability to work independently
  • Working knowledge of ProSystems/Axcess software, Thomson Reuters Checkpoint, Microsoft Office, and other programs related to accounting and auditing

Nice to have

Preparation of tax returns for nonprofits and varying entities is a plus
