Job Description:

The Material Control Superintendent is a leadership role whose primary responsibility is to lead and develop Material Control Supervisors while overseeing the boarder operation. The primary role of a Material Control Superintendent is to oversee the day-to-day operation of Parts Distribution Center.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage to deadlines and timelines, with high degree of planned and unplanned variables and complexities
  • Champion and lead continuous improvement initiatives toward best-in-class performance
  • Responsible for managing all operations: Inbound, outbound, claims processing, building maintenance
  • Deliver objectives related to Cost, Quality, Safety, Efficiency, Absenteeism and Inventory Accuracy
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with all stakeholders, including fair and consistent administration of the Collective Bargaining Agreement
  • Supervise and develop material control supervisors
  • Responsible for all operations including, but not limited to: Safety, Denials, Quality, On-time delivery, UAW Relationships, and Transportation
  • Inventory Management, Manage Budgets, Facility Management, Operational Business Plans, Liaison for all external partners

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3-5 years of experience working at a warehouse facility maintaining the environment, safety, and operations
  • Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn current systems (SAP/EWM)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookups, etc.)
  • Ability to interpret data, evaluate actions, and reach logical conclusions independently
  • Goal oriented mindset
  • A continuous Improvement mindset with a focus on quality and reduced costs
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to ensure accountability from all employees

Nice to have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum 1 year leadership experience preferred
  • Minimum 3 years operational experience preferred
  • Proficient with SAP/EWM software
