The Material Control Superintendent is a leadership role whose primary responsibility is to lead and develop Material Control Supervisors while overseeing the boarder operation. The primary role of a Material Control Superintendent is to oversee the day-to-day operation of Parts Distribution Center.
Job Responsibility:
Manage to deadlines and timelines, with high degree of planned and unplanned variables and complexities
Champion and lead continuous improvement initiatives toward best-in-class performance
Responsible for managing all operations: Inbound, outbound, claims processing, building maintenance
Deliver objectives related to Cost, Quality, Safety, Efficiency, Absenteeism and Inventory Accuracy
Maintain a positive working relationship with all stakeholders, including fair and consistent administration of the Collective Bargaining Agreement
Supervise and develop material control supervisors
Responsible for all operations including, but not limited to: Safety, Denials, Quality, On-time delivery, UAW Relationships, and Transportation
Inventory Management, Manage Budgets, Facility Management, Operational Business Plans, Liaison for all external partners
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
3-5 years of experience working at a warehouse facility maintaining the environment, safety, and operations
Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn current systems (SAP/EWM)
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Experience with Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookups, etc.)
Ability to interpret data, evaluate actions, and reach logical conclusions independently
Goal oriented mindset
A continuous Improvement mindset with a focus on quality and reduced costs
Excellent organizational skills and ability to ensure accountability from all employees
Nice to have:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Minimum 1 year leadership experience preferred
Minimum 3 years operational experience preferred
Proficient with SAP/EWM software
