The Revenues and Benefits Service has a vital role in the billing, collection and recovery of Council Tax, Business Rates and Sundry Debt. The Sundry Debt Officer reports to the Business Rates & Sundry Debt Team Leader.
Job Responsibility:
Undertake debt recovery work across the Sundry Debt and Business Rate Teams
Provide an effective and efficient service for the debt recovery function
Help maximise the collection of income for the Council
Work in accordance with relevant legislation, local policy, strategy and government directive
Work closely with key stakeholders
Help ensure the service is customer focused and provides value for money
Requirements:
Competent call handler for internal and external calls
Confident user of different IT systems
Knowledge of MRI One Revs and Bens (Academy) system and Unit 4 is an advantage
Appointment subject to outcome of an Enhanced DBS check
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults
