EKU Housing & Residence Life fosters the development, engagement, and success of our residential community by providing a home that enhances the collegiate experience. Summer Resident Advisors are integral to the goals of EKU Housing & Residence Life by providing resources, safety and security, community engagement, and personal development to our summer residential students.
Job Responsibility:
Build positive relationships and foster community with engagement strategies from our Residential Curriculum
Assist in resolving student conflicts and referring students to appropriate resources
Exhibit strong communication skills in group and individual settings
Plan and implement experiences and events that meet specific community goals
Assist with facility management tasks such as walkthroughs, key audits, etc
Maintain safety and security by enforcing policy, conducting walkthroughs, and responding to calls
Demonstrate knowledge of EKU residence hall structure, policies, and procedures
Evaluate crises and respond appropriately
Participate in the on-call rotation for summer students in the residence halls
Provide support during the opening and closing of summer residence halls
Provide excellent service and hospitality to summer residents and their guests
Attend required trainings, staff meetings, and supervision meetings to enhance service delivery and team collaboration
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Experiencing living on a college campus
Leadership experience
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Time management and organizational abilities
Have a minimum 2.50 cumulative GPA and be a full-time EKU student (enrolled in at least 12 credit hours as an undergraduate student or 9 credit hours as a graduate student) for the Fall 2026 semester, or be enrolled in summer courses
Must be in good judicial standing with the University.
What we offer:
Compensation includes a $1100 stipend and provided housing in the summer residence hall.
