Job Description

Arcfield's intern program is designed to provide college students a meaningful, in-person work experience in aerospace-related systems engineering. Our goal is to build a roadmap that leads to a long, rewarding, and successful career. Interns typically represent college students trying to gain related work experience while pursuing a relevant undergraduate degree. For college students considering a career supporting national defense and intelligence missions, this internship is a tremendous opportunity for experience solving complex, technical challenges using the latest tools, trends, and techniques.

Job Responsibility

  • Assigned projects supporting the organization's professional staff in such disciplines as Models Based Systems Engineering, Remote Sensing, Orbit Dynamics, Data Analytics, Modeling & Simulation, Project Management and more
  • Report to the Arcfield facility in King of Prussia, PA for the 10-week, 40 hour per week internship
  • Have a designated, personal mentor who will assign and guide them through various challenging projects during the 10-week period
  • The internship will conclude with a final cumulative presentation detailing the projects’ accomplishments
  • Have frequent communication and interaction with their mentor yet will be expected to execute most project tasking independently and/or in collaboration with other interns

Requirements

  • Strong analytical skills
  • enjoys solving complex, challenging problems
  • Experience in writing code
  • High degree of computer literacy
  • Experience with Python, R, Matlab, or similar
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools/concepts
  • Experience with Data Mining, Analysis, Performance Analysis, Predictive Analytics and Reporting using various methods and tools
  • Interest in orbit dynamics, remote sensing, or image science
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
  • Must be actively pursuing a 4-year degree at an accredited university with a degree in Engineering (e.g., aerospace, mechanical, electrical, computer/software, sensor, systems), Computer Science, Data Science, Imaging Science, Mathematics, Physics, or other related technical fields
