Job Description:

Summer intern will assist with water quality monitoring and evaluation, and the analysis of Littleton's water and sewer system infrastructure. This position will work under the Water & Sewer Superintendent.

Job Responsibility:

  • Conduct water quality sampling and water level monitoring field work at approximately 50 groundwater monitoring wells and four surface water sites located in Littleton
  • Test drinking water and wastewater for mineral/nutrient/organics content, enter and organize water quality data for temporal analyses, assist with monthly and quarterly water sampling
  • Participate in the development of online maps and collection of geographic feature information to create a comprehensive, up-to-date spatial database of Littleton's water distribution and collection systems
  • Aid in the development, organization, and maintenance of various systems that allow operations to function as efficiently and effectively as possible

Requirements:

  • A valid Class D Massachusetts Driver's license
  • enrollment in a related undergraduate degree program
  • some knowledge of GIS
  • proficiency with Microsoft Excel
