We are excited to offer a Summer Internship opportunity on our Automotive Experience team, which supports how SiriusXM partners with automotive manufacturers to design, document, and deliver in-car experiences across a complex ecosystem of hardware, software, and platforms. As an Automotive Documentation Intern, you’ll contribute to meaningful work that improves how we communicate product and design guidance to our automotive partners. You’ll collaborate closely with experienced designers and cross-functional partners, helping create clear, consistent, and visually well-crafted documentation that enables high-quality in-vehicle experiences.
Job Responsibility:
Support the creation, organization, and maintenance of documentation and reference materials used by automotive partners
Contribute to documentation that supports in-vehicle experiences across multiple platforms and systems
Work closely with the lead designer and cross-functional partners to improve the clarity, structure, and consistency of existing resources
Help translate product and design decisions into clear, well-structured, and thoughtfully presented guidance for internal teams and external partners
Contribute to the evolution of partner-facing tools and resources, helping improve clarity, usability, and alignment with modern design and accessibility standards
Participate in reviews, feedback sessions, and cross-team discussions to ensure documentation aligns with evolving product and design standards
Collaborate with designers, product managers, engineers, and partner-facing teams to understand requirements and constraints
Apply and document established design systems, patterns, and guidelines, identifying gaps or opportunities for improvement
Help craft clear narratives and supporting materials that communicate intent, usage, and best practices
Requirements:
Internships are open to current students enrolled at a university (those graduating by May 2027 are preferred) and recent graduates who graduated within the 12-month period prior to the start of the internship
majoring in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, UX/UI, Technical Communication, Digital Media, or related fields
A strong portfolio demonstrating interest in documentation, design systems thinking, or design support work, including attention to visual quality, hierarchy, and presentation
Experience with design tools such as Figma
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, time management, and the ability to maintain clear and organized documentation
Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work across disciplines and incorporate feedback
Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
Nice to have:
Interest in automotive, connected systems, or complex product ecosystems
Familiarity with AI-assisted workflows (such as using AI for drafting, synthesis, or organization) is a plus, with thoughtful judgment in how tools are applied
Academic or personal projects that show clear communication and organization are encouraged
