Job Description

By working in more than one classroom within our school, float teachers become beloved members of our school community. These positions are versatile roles that enable teachers to acquire a wide range of early childhood experiences by teaching and caring for different age groups and children. We are seeking help June through August. However, a summer opportunity could lead to long term employment.

Requirements

  • a cda, college degree (associates, bachelors, or masters) or a minimum of 16 semester credits towards and early childhood education or and ece related field. college credits are required.
  • ability to work 4 - 10 hour shifts (Monday-Friday)
  • must be authorized to work in the US
  • must pass a MN Department of Human Services background study

  • Identify and respond to camper behavior issues following the Ricks Center discipline policy
  • Communicate with parents about participants' experiences and behaviors and report concerns to extended day leadership
  • Assist in maintaining accurate program records, including incident reports, logbook documentation, and daily attendance
  • Ensure that the site is kept clean and organized, prepare all areas for learning, and order supplies as needed within an allotted budget
  • Know and understand ALL emergency procedures associated with the program and uphold all policies in the teacher and parent handbooks
  • Know, enforce, and follow all safety guidelines associated with the program and all program areas
  • Know, enforce, and follow all licensing requirements associated with the program areas
