The International School of Milan (ISM), part of the Inspired Education Group, is seeking dynamic, responsible and enthusiastic Residential Monitors to join the ISM Fashion, Art & Design Summer Camp team based at ISM in Baranzate for the full camp period from 25 June to 26 July 2026, with arrival required on 24 June 2026 for operational readiness. The ISM Fashion, Art & Design Summer Camp is a creative and educational residential programme for international students aged 12–17, combining learning in fashion design and creation processes, sustainability topics, cultural experiences, excursions in Milan and surrounding areas, and a rich programme of afternoon and evening activities. Reporting to the Summer Camp Deputies and working closely with the Camp Director and wider camp team, Residential Monitors provide continuous pastoral care to both boarding and day students, ensuring physical, emotional and social wellbeing within a safe and structured residential environment. The role requires strong teamwork, flexibility and a high level of responsibility in a fast-paced camp setting. This is a residential position, with accommodation and meals provided on site. Staff work on a rotational and flexible timetable, including evening, late and overnight duties, and are expected to remain on site outside scheduled hours except during designated time off.
Job Responsibility:
Provide excellent pastoral care for boarding and day students, including safeguarding, wellbeing and discipline
Ensure students follow all boarding and school procedures, including sign-in/out, mealtimes, bedtime routines, medication and night-time procedures
Ensure students are never left unattended, including during off-site excursions
Collaborate closely with the Camp Director and Deputies and report concerns immediately
Supervise students on excursions, following all safety instructions and procedures
Support non-residential teaching staff during daytime camp activities when required
Run and supervise afternoon activities and evening entertainment
Be responsible for materials used during organised activities and ensure areas are clean and organised
Work a flexible rota including evening duties, late duties and overnight boarding supervision
Be on call in the event of incidents, fire, intruders or emergencies
Support first aid and health-related matters alongside the Camp Director, Deputies and camp nurse
Support arrivals and departures of campers, including welcoming families and assisting with airport transfers
Attend mandatory training, planning sessions and staff meetings
Comply with all ISM policies, safeguarding procedures and health & safety regulations
Maintain confidentiality of all student, family and staff information
Requirements:
English language proficiency at Advanced or Proficiency level (C1–C2)
Experience working with children or teenagers in educational, recreational or residential settings
Ability to work collaboratively within a large team in a fast-paced camp environment
Flexibility to work irregular hours and adapt to changing priorities
Strong sense of responsibility and professionalism when working in a residential context with minors
Ability to remain calm and responsive in emergency or high-pressure situations
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, overnight duties and weekends
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with students, families and colleagues
High standards of personal hygiene and professional appearance
Valid permission to work within Italy/EU
Ability to provide a valid police background check (criminal record certificate) prior to the start of camp
Commitment to safeguarding and confidentiality requirements
