Sotogrande International School, part of the Inspired Education Group, is seeking a qualified and experienced Summer Camp Nurse to join the team for the fully residential summer camp programme running from 25 June to 8 August 2026. The Summer Camp Nurse is responsible for providing medical care and health support to campers and staff, ensuring the highest standards of health, safety and wellbeing are maintained throughout the camp. Working closely with the Camp Director, leadership team and school nurse, the post-holder will manage medical care, medication administration, health documentation and emergency response procedures across all camp sessions. This is a fully residential role, supporting a multi-session summer camp programme and contributing to arrivals, departures, excursions and evening camp routines as required. Accommodation, meals and accident insurance are provided where applicable.
Job Responsibility:
Provide first aid and basic medical care to campers and staff, including administering medication and treatments in line with policies and procedures
Maintain accurate medical records including medication logs, health histories and incident reports
Review medical history forms and coordinate with parents regarding medication and health requirements
Support development and implementation of camp health and safety protocols with camp leadership
Work with catering teams to support dietary requirements, allergies and medical food needs
Educate campers and staff on health and wellbeing topics including hygiene, sun safety and nutrition
Manage medical supplies and equipment inventory, ensuring safe storage and availability
Communicate with parents and guardians regarding camper health and wellbeing when required
Support arrivals and departures, welcoming families and supporting new camper transitions
Follow safeguarding, health and safety and camp operational procedures at all times
Attend training sessions, safeguarding training and staff meetings as required
Work collaboratively with camp staff to maintain a safe and positive camp environment
Requirements:
Registered Nurse (RN) with current licence or equivalent medical training and experience
Minimum two years’ experience in paediatric or camp nursing
Experience using medical equipment such as EpiPens, inhalers and glucometers
Strong clinical assessment and treatment skills across a range of medical conditions
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, families and staff
Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing operational needs
Current First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain
English language proficiency at Native or Advanced/Proficiency (C1–C2)
Valid permission to work within the EU
Ability to provide a criminal record certificate issued within the last 3 months
