King’s College, The British School of Madrid (Soto de Viñuelas) is seeking a caring and committed Non-Residential Infants Teacher to support early years learning and supervision during the Summer Camp programme running from 25 June to 25 July 2026. Reporting to the Academic Coordinator, and when required to the Deputy Head or Camps Director, the post-holder will deliver age-appropriate English learning activities while ensuring the safety, wellbeing and development of children aged 3–5 within a structured, supportive camp environment. This is a daytime role focused on classroom teaching, activity delivery and pastoral care, requiring strong safeguarding awareness, teamwork and the ability to respond calmly to incidents.
Job Responsibility:
Teach and manage groups of 12–15 children aged 3–5, ensuring children are never left unattended
Plan and deliver age-appropriate English lessons and workshops with clear aims and objectives
Create daily lesson plans suited to the age and level of each group
Provide pastoral care and ensure children receive appropriate support when unwell or injured
Maintain responsibility for the wellbeing of children in class and across the course
Support daily routines including breaks, mealtimes and pool supervision as part of a staff rota
Maintain parent contact when required by the coordination team
Complete individual English reports for each child at the end of their stay
Prepare and display student work for end-of-session exhibitions for parents
Assist with welcome logistics and greeting families on Sundays
Attend training days, safeguarding sessions and all staff meetings
Follow all school procedures, uniform requirements, hygiene standards, and health & safety regulations
Support unpacking and packing of course materials at the start and end of the programme
Cover classes when requested by the Leadership Team and undertake lesson observations when required
Undertake other reasonable duties as required to support camp operations
Requirements:
English language level C1–C2
Minimum 1 year of experience working with young children (ages 3–5)
Ability to supervise groups of 10–15 children safely and effectively
Experience planning and leading age-appropriate activities
Experience supporting early-years learning and classroom management
Ability to follow safety protocols and respond appropriately to incidents
Ability to chaperone excursions and supervise children off-site when required
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Basic First Aid knowledge (preferable)
Degree or currently studying in Early Childhood Education or related field, TEFL Certificate, English Degree or Teaching Degree
