Job Description

United Synagogue is seeking a Summer Camp Assistant Chef to support the preparation, cooking and serving of meals for participants and staff. You will help maintain stock levels, manage leftovers, ensure dietary requirements are met, and uphold excellent standards of cleanliness and food hygiene in the kitchen and dining areas.

Job Responsibility

  • Assist with meal preparation, cooking and service
  • Ensure sufficient food and options at each mealtime, including fruit, veg and dietary needs
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas
  • support set-up and clean-down
  • Assist with stock control, storage and equipment care
  • Work with the Head of Site to keep mealtimes running to schedule
  • Follow United Synagogue policies, values and quality standards

Requirements

  • Food Hygiene certification (essential)
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Good communication and ability to work under pressure
  • A team player who can use initiative

Nice to have

  • Driver’s Licence
  • First Aid qualification
