Citi is looking for summer analysts to join the Capital Strategy & Structuring (CSS) team, part of the broader Financial Strategy Group (FSG), a corporate finance advisory team in Citi’s investment banking division. The CSS team originates, structures and executes hybrid capital and other structured fixed income transactions for banks, insurers and corporates, working in close partnership with Debt Capital Markets. It also advises issuers globally on capital structure and the debt market consequences of broader regulatory developments, such as bank resolution, bail-in, and the implementation of Basel 4. The 10-week summer analyst program starts in June and begins with a one-week training program in London. After which you will be assigned to the Capital Strategy & Structuring (CSS) team. Successful summer analysts will be considered for a full-time position in the Capital Strategy & Structuring (CSS) team after graduation.
Job Responsibility:
Structuring/executing hybrid capital transactions
Preparing/reviewing transaction documentation and marketing materials
Understand credit rating methodologies of the three major credit rating agencies (S&P, Moody’s, Fitch)
Apply credit rating knowledge to provide views on a company’s credit rating
Structure hybrid capital and assist issuers in the management of the hybrid capital layer
Understand regulatory capital requirements of Banks and Insurers
Provide an analytical framework to optimise bank capital resources
Collect and analyze company information
Conduct industry research
Perform benchmarking with peer groups
Requirements:
In penultimate/final year of university
Expected to achieve or have achieved a 2:1 (or equivalent) at undergraduate level in any degree discipline
Keen interest in corporate finance
Comfortable working with numbers / large amount of data
Fluent in a 2nd language (desirable but not essential)
