Job Description

ICEYE is seeking a Subsystems Assembly Technician to support the manufacturing of power systems at our Valencia location. This is a hands-on technical role, ideal for a person with strong expertise in assembling and testing electronic components, particularly power systems of satellites (e.g. batteries, power conditioning modules, PCBAs, solar cells).

Job Responsibility

  • Perform inspection, assembly, verification and testing of satellite power systems
  • Ensure readiness and functionality of assigned subsystems (e.g., battery, solar panels, power module) through testing and validation procedures
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, AIT, and Quality teams to resolve any challenges and drive design-for-manufacturing improvements
  • Monitor subassembly production and escalate blockers early, ensuring smooth coordination with AIT and supply chain teams
  • Support root cause analysis and non-conformance resolution for issues during integration and testing
  • Ensure proper documentation and traceability for all mechanical activities in accordance with aerospace production standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience in aerospace or high-reliability electrical assembly environments
  • Proven experience assembling/inspecting/verifying electronic components
  • Familiarity with quality standards
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, scaling production environment with tight deadlines
  • Hands-on mindset — must be willing to go on the floor, solve problems, and support technicians directly
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate across functions (Production, Engineering, QA, Planning)
  • Strong process ownership and commitment to continuous improvement
  • Experience with root cause analysis and non-conformance handling

  • Lead and coordinate the daily activities of the production team, ensuring high-quality and on-time delivery of satellite mechanical assemblies
  • Maintain testing and validation procedures for the inspection, verification, assembly and testing of power systems
  • Develop, review, and improve work instructions, assembly procedures, tooling, and jigs for subsystem verification operations together with the AIT engineering and production engineering team
  • Train and mentor production technicians in mechanical best practices, ensuring compliance with quality standards and IPC/ECSS guidelines
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, AIT, and Quality teams to resolve integration challenges and drive design-for-manufacturing improvements
  • Lead the implementation and upkeep of Lean manufacturing and 6S practices across production areas you are responsible for
  • Monitor build progress and escalate blockers early, ensuring smooth coordination with planning and supply chain
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase assembly efficiency, reduce rework, and strengthen process control
