As Subsystem Lead Transmission (m/f/d), you take technical ownership of the transmission subsystem for wind turbines. The subsystem transmission comprises the main gearbox of the wind turbine and its auxiliary components, i.e. elastomers, brake system, shaft connections, lubrication system, lubricants, and some more. Working closely with the System Lead Drivetrain, engineering teams, and stakeholders, you ensure robust, safe, and verifiable solutions across the product lifecycle. The role combines strong system thinking with hands-on design expertise in drivetrain and transmission engineering.
Job Responsibility
Develop design concepts, preliminary designs, and detailed designs across the entire product lifecycle
Ensure technical solutions are aligned with the overall drivetrain system architecture and turbine-level requirements
Coordinate and align technical decisions with the System Lead Drivetrain, engineering teams, and involved stakeholders
Derive, maintain, and manage subsystem requirements in compliance with system and product requirements
Create technical documentation, design releases, and engineering specifications in accordance with defined PEP processes
Define subsystem test specifications, maintain DFMEA including CTQs, and support reviews, risk assessments, and field topics
Requirements
Completed degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or an equivalent qualification
At least 5 years of experience in a comparable role, with a focus on drivetrain or main gearbox design for wind turbines
Solid experience in systems engineering as well as verification and validation of complex technical systems
Strong knowledge of DFMEA methodologies and the identification and assessment of CTQs
Good understanding of relevant technical standards, in particular ISO/IEC
Clear and effective communication skills for collaboration in interdisciplinary and international teams
