Substitute Teacher

• Work with the children under the supervision of a teacher
• Maintain and organize classroom materials and space
• Present a friendly and professional tone in the interactions with the families
• Assist classroom teachers in dealing with children with challenging behaviors
• Bring attention and concerns of the difficult situations to the classroom teachers to receive support and guidance

• At least 18 years old with a High School Diploma
• Have 1-2 years of experience working with toddlers or preschool-age children
• Must meet Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) health and background check requirements
• Must be willing to work towards a Child Development Associate (CDA) or take up to 4 Early Childhood Education (ECE) courses to get Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) Teacher certification
• Show strong interest and aptitude for the care of young children
• Ability to manage children in the classroom and being responsible
• Professional working proficiency in writing, reading, and speaking in Cantonese or Mandarin Chinese is required

associate degree is a plus
