Job Description:

As a Substitute Fine Dining Cook at The Ritz-Carlton New York Central Park, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality culinary experiences while maintaining the Gold Standards of service. Responsibilities include food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring guest satisfaction. Join a global brand leader committed to excellence in luxury hospitality.

Job Responsibility:

Set-up and break down work station
operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers to prepare foods
prepare cold food
monitor food quality while preparing food
test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently
wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables
prepare ingredients for cooking including portioning, chopping, and storing food
weigh, measure, and mix ingredients
prepare special meals or substitute items
serve food in proper portions onto proper receptacle
wash and disinfect kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipment
ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
welcome and acknowledge guests
develop and maintain positive working relationships with others.

Requirements:

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
at least 2 years of related work experience
no supervisory experience
ability to operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers
ability to wash and peel fruits and vegetables
ability to prepare, test, and monitor food
ability to maintain cleanliness and professionalism
ability to move and lift objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.
