Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent
A minimum of six months of relevant experience with a high school diploma or equivalent, or a minimum of three months of relevant experience with a college degree
Interest or experience supporting children’s development in literacy or the arts
Maintains a positive and professional attitude in all interactions
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
Experience working with people of different backgrounds and a high level of cultural competency preferred
Professional working proficiency in Cantonese or Mandarin Chinese is a plus

Job Responsibility

Fulfill the basic responsibilities of the Group Leaders on a daily basis
Implement enrichment activities that have been planned by the Group Leaders
Supervise children during academic and recreational activities to provide a positive, enriching experience
Provide comprehensive academic support and guidance for children’s homework assignments
Monitor individual and/or group dynamics and track academic and behavioral issues, strategically implementing solutions
Communicate with parents as needed
Attend field trips with children around Boston while continuing to support their growth and safety
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Job Responsibility

On-Call Availability: Work weekday afternoons (approx. 1:30 PM–5:30 PM) when a regular Group Leader has a scheduled or unscheduled day off
Active Leadership: When you’re called in, you’ll lead groups of school-age children (ages 5–10) through games, outdoor sports, and arts & crafts
Proactive Mentorship: Provide supportive homework assistance and positive behavior guidance, ensuring a consistent and nurturing environment
Active Supervision: Maintain a highly supervised, organized, and safe environment—ready to step into any program site and show your team spirit

Act as the main point of contact on site for parents with questions and concerns
Collaborate with Principals/school administration on the site-level as the main point of contact for school/district staff
Manage student sign-in and sign-out process and make sure all rosters are accurate, up to date, and all student records follow Elevo guidelines and are district-compliant
Collaborate with Elevo’s regional management team to design and implement a site program schedule
Complete daily incident and end-of-day reports for offsite leadership to review
Ensure all staff are implementing behavior management strategies and that students are engaged with all activities on-site
Act as a positive and inspiring role model
