As a Group Leader on Olsson’s Substation & Power Generation team, you will lead a skilled group of professionals focused on designing safe, reliable, and future‑ready power infrastructure. Job Responsibility:
Lead and mentor a team of supervisors and technical staff, supporting growth and development across all experience levels
Foster a culture of open communication, trust, collaboration, and alignment with the Substation & Power Generation team’s vision
Oversee project execution and quality assurance to ensure successful delivery of substation design projects
Monitor group performance, workload, and utilization to identify improvement opportunities and implement strategies that enhance efficiency
Guide process development and resource planning to support operational excellence across project lifecycles
Serve as a client‑facing leader, building strong relationships and representing Olsson with professionalism and deep technical understanding
Help team members connect their technical contributions to the broader goals and long‑term direction of the Substation & Power Generation team and the organization
Requirements:
Strong communication, leadership, and management skills
Ability to attract, develop, and retain talented staff who deliver results
Strong background in process development, resource planning, and driving consistency across project teams
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to connect with all levels of an organization and foster a transparent, collaborative environment
At least four years of experience supervising technical personnel, with a demonstrated ability to lead through others and support teams across varying experience levels
8+ years of technical experience in substation design or related high-voltage electrical infrastructure
A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, engineering technology, or a related field is preferred. An associate degree with equivalent experience will also be considered
