Job Description

Airswift is seeking a Subsea Controls Engineer to work on an outsourced contract, in Rio de Janeiro, with a major Oil & Gas Company. This role is intended for a Subsea Controls Engineer with hands on experience in system development, integration and testing, supporting the RAIA Project across China onshore commissioning, testing activities in Brazil, and future offshore commissioning phases. The position reports directly to the Project Subsea Controls Lead and includes the possibility to act as Deputy, supporting governance, coordination and technical decision making related to the Subsea Production Control System (SPCS).

Job Responsibility

  • Support and monitor SPCS onshore commissioning activities in China (TFMC scope)
  • Actively participate in: Execution of EFAT and SIT
  • Systems integration and functional testing
  • Support the resolution of technical problems and clarifications during test execution
  • Contribute to monitoring and reporting progress in conjunction with the company's commissioning organization
  • Support the preparation, execution, and monitoring of SIT activities
  • Review test procedures, reports, to-do lists, and test evidence
  • Support administrative, coordination, and monitoring activities related to commissioning and testing
  • Support governance activities, including: Participation in important coordination meetings (e.g., bi-weekly TFMC meetings, SPS meetings, Delivery Strategy)
  • Support technical decision-making related to the scope of Subsea Controls when delegated by the Subsea Controls Leader
  • Support the preparation and execution of offshore commissioning
  • Participate in offshore commissioning campaigns, including: Preparation for first oil production

Requirements

  • Solid experience in Subsea Production Control Systems (SPCS)
  • Strong understanding of: Subsea control architecture (hydraulic, electrical, optical, and software)
  • System integration and testing (FAT, EFAT, SIT)
  • Interfaces with surface systems, FPSO, and subsea equipment
  • Familiarity with: Subsea control systems and architectures
  • SCU/MDIS interfaces
  • Network architectures and communication protocols (e.g., OPC)
  • Commissioning and testing procedures
  • Relevant experience in Subsea Controls, Automation, or Commissioning
  • Experience with the Brazilian Oil and Gas market
  • Level of experience comparable to a mid-level to senior engineer
  • Previous experience in: Project execution environments
  • Interaction with suppliers and systems integration
  • Commissioning and testing phases (highly desirable)
  • Ability to work in multiple phases and locations (China, Brazil, and Offshore)
