Job Responsibility:
Providing technical safety support, and subject matter advice, to a wide and varied number of current and future submarine and underwater system related projects, directly supporting the UK submarine community
Support the delivery of safety projects to schedule, quality and budget, to meet the requirements of our clients

and associated regulations, standards, and policies
Requirements:
Be a UK-born sole national
Have held no other nationality at any time
Have continuously resided in the United Kingdom for the past five years
Be able to obtain and maintain full UK security clearance in accordance with government vetting standards
Provide satisfactory evidence of identity, nationality, and residency as part of the clearance process
Eligible to hold UK Security Clearance at SC level and will be subject to security checks
Experience of the operation and/or maintenance of Royal Navy (RN) submarines and equipment
Preferably knowledge of appropriate technical documentation and an understanding of safety requirements
Nice to have:
Familiar with the safety management for Nuclear Facilities and the associated Authorising Conditions and Site Licensing arrangements
Familiar with the application of safety regulation, policy and standards, with experience relevant to UK MOD approaches to submarine safety such as: Defence Safety Authority (DSA) Regulations, Defence Nuclear Safety Regulations, Naval Authority Certification, Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA) Safety Policy and Management systems
Have practical experience in the development and management of hazard logs
supporting and facilitating HAZID and hazard review meetings
and authoring safety assessment/ safety case reports, including providing justification of the ALARP status of the product
Knowledgeable in statutory safety legislation and how to attain, and manage, legislation compliance
Excellent communication skills and the ability to present professionally, both verbally and in writing
Analytical thinking skills and your ability to well in a team
Self-motivated with a proactive approach to professional accreditation, such as IEng or CEng
