Arcfield, Inc. is seeking Combat Systems/Weapons/Platform Systems ILS Technician candidates who will provide direct support to the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) working on the AN/BYG-1 Submarine Combat Control System (CCS). This position is located on-site at NUWCDIVNPT Newport, RI.
Job Responsibility:
Analysis for parts/materiel plans for BYG-1 combat control system modernization and capabilities expansions to meet emerging Navy needs.
Analyze Technical Data Packages for component procurement accuracy and compliance with Engineering Change Instructions and Engineering Change Proposals.
Assess installation and system requirements to determine supply chain requirements and potential issues.
Perform and presentation of gap, fault/failure, and performance analyses.
Provide recommendations for submarine CCS operational readiness/availability (Ao) planning for materiel and on-board sparing range and depth.
Develop reports and technical documentation describing results of analyses, materiel availability, and supply chain problem investigations.
Act as / or coordinate with Team Lead and work with the BYG-1 hardware engineering team to support upgrades to existing weapon systems to meet future materiel, sparing and Ao requirements.
Document and present trade studies as to the risks, benefits, feasibility of future BYG-1 materiel support needs for new and upgraded platforms.
Assist with and support platform technical data package development and delivery.
Develop program status reports such as technical assessments, risk assessments, technical recommendations, or technical information.
Assess current system capabilities against current and near-term needs and provide technical recommendations to resolve gaps by evaluating and resolving system failure reports, casualty reports (CASREPs), material support issues, and other inputs from the Fleet.
Requirements:
HS 8-10 Years
High School degree plus 15 years-experience with US Navy submarine systems. Candidates with significant, demonstrated experience with BYG-1 system requirements, repair processes, networks, and supply chain management will be considered.
Knowledge of AN/BYG-1 system hardware, US Navy Submarine land-based laboratory testing and evaluation environment for Combat Systems and associated interfaces network
Experience and knowledge associated with Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) supply chain processes and functions related to design, upgrade and deployment of new submarine systems and platforms.
Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to interface with technical personnel, managers, and customers
Candidates must be able to work independently, collaboratively, and interface regularly with a wide range of client personnel.
Proficiency with MS office applications, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as Adobe Acrobat. Linux operating system familiarity desired.
Support scheduling, funding, and resource needs in conjunction with Program Manager
Active Department of Defense Secret security clearance.
