Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support our project in its ongoing digital transformation and operational excellence initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring deep domain knowledge in the oil & gas industry, with specific expertise in upstream/downstream operations, digital technologies, and enterprise systems

Job Responsibility

  • Provide expert-level advisory support in the oil & gas domain, that will align business processes with digital and IT solutions
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define solution requirements, business use cases, and operational models
  • Drive domain-specific best practices, standards, and innovation strategies for project implementation
  • Participate in architecture design reviews, platform selections, and solution blueprinting
  • Support functional teams with deep insights into oil & gas workflows, regulatory requirements, and performance metrics
  • Validate solution configurations, business rules, and data flows to ensure they align with industry benchmarks
  • Contribute to knowledge transfer, capability development, and stakeholder enablement sessions
  • Work across project delivery, business analysis, and vendor management functions as a strategic advisor

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Petroleum, Geoscience, IT, or related field
  • Master's or MBA is a plus
  • Minimum 12 years of total experience, with at least 7+ years in oil & gas industry-specific roles
  • Proven expertise in at least one of the following domains: Upstream operations (exploration, drilling, reservoir, production)
  • Downstream processes (refinery, petrochemicals)
  • Asset integrity and reliability
  • HSE & regulatory compliance
  • Digital oilfield / Smart field solutions
  • Familiarity with platforms such as SAP (IS-Oil), Honeywell, AVEVA, OSIsoft PI, SCADA, or similar
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams and influence decision-making at executive levels
