A Bachelor's of Science degree in engineering or bachelors of science in business from an accredited university
In lieu of a college degree, applied experience within the fields of construction, subcontract management or purchasing may be substituted at the discretion of VPI management
A knowledge of general steel fabrication management practices applicable to VPI products at a level typically possessed by an individual with 5 years of experience
Good verbal and written communication skills to clearly communicate subcontracting and manufacturing issues to supplies and within VPI

Job Responsibility

Responsible for managing agreements with subcontractors
Communication of VPI initiated changes in scope to subcontractors and resolution of any changes on price, delivery, or technical capability with the subcontractor
Communicate and resolve changes on pricing, delivery, or subcontractor capabilities with the Project Manager
Responsible for managing the sourcing plan and for monitoring subcontractor performance
Responsible for development of RFQ’s for subcontracted work and for the evaluation of subcontractor quotations
Ensure any selected supplier is an approved / qualified source for commodity listed in the Corporate Supplier List (CSL)
Ensure all commercial documents have been conformed / revised to final agreed set of terms and conditions prior to issue of any Purchase order
Create, and submit a Bid Evaluation through the Deviation Management System (DMS) system
Review Document Control Automation Program (DCAP) packages to confirm all documents are accurate
Responsible for communication of information to subcontractors such as drawings, schedules, and shipping information

Prepare cost budgets and pricing for contract variations, lifecycle works, and additional FM tasks or minor works packages
Prepare subcontract valuations and payment certificates, including those for ongoing facilities management services
Monitor costs to ensure budgets are met, providing commercial oversight of both project delivery and FM contract performance
Prepare contract claims information, including claims arising from reactive maintenance, service-level deviations, or contract changes within FM agreements
Evaluate and select subcontract tenders, including specialist FM contractors (e.g., M&E maintenance, building fabric, compliance testing)
