As part of the Agency Habitat and Lowtown Studios team, our Styling Assistant Intern will be responsible for supporting on photoshoots, creating sets and composing shots for photographers and videographers, managing prop room, making returns, social media content creation and asset delivery in addition to learning how to. The Styling Assistant Intern may have the opportunity to connect with our art directors, content creators and animators to help produce content that is on brand and on strategy without creative compromise. It’s crucial for this role to remain flexible and willing to help where needed, as well as work creatively with a variety of people from different backgrounds and disciplines.
Job Responsibility:
Assist in the execution and management of a variety of client photoshoots and content creation
Support studio team members on photoshoots, styling, reel creation, and concept developments
Maintaining and managing prop room, set pieces, wardrobe
Participate in meetings and develop an understanding of the overall studio processes
Occasionally assist on location shoots, and outside of normal business hours
Recommend creative ideas to exceed expectations of goals and objectives
Source and create props, backgrounds, wardrobe, run errands and make returns as needed
Assisting stylist on large shoots
Conduct research and maintain awareness of styling techniques and trends
Creating prop lists and managing prop budget
Perform additional tasks as assigned
Requirements:
Portfolio Required: Must submit an online portfolio showcasing your creative work
Education: Working towards or have obtained a relevant bachelor’s degree (Fashion Merchandising, Arts, Visual Merchandising, Photography, Interior Design, Apparel Design, Graphic Design, Fashion Design, Art, or related fields), or 3+ years related experience
Work Requirements: Minimum of 24-29 hours per week in our office @ $12/hour
Flexible to travel to locations as required
Must have a vehicle to shop for props and styling supplies as needed
Strong artistic and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
Knowledge of basic design principles
Demonstration of a flexible and adaptable work style
Understanding of the basics of photography, marketing, and social media platforms
Willingness to learn studio equipment, etiquette, marketing, and reel creation
Ability to multitask, stay on schedule and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to learn new processes and programs
Ability to work well under pressure, pivot quickly and provide alternate creative options on the fly
Occasionally assist on location outside of normal business hours (not to exceed agreed upon weekly hours)
Periodically able to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs
Nice to have:
Prop/set styling, soft styling, food styling and/or on figure styling experience a bonus
