Job Description:

Specialist One-to-One Study Skills Support - assisting autistic students at the University of Cumbria with tailored learning strategies aligned to their needs. This hybrid role involves face-to-face and online sessions.

Job Responsibility:

Develop independent learning strategies
Build on strengths to enhance academic performance
Improve time management and organisational skills
Create action plans to meet academic deadlines
Strengthen research abilities by using varied and credible sources
Understand referencing and how to use academic sources correctly
Improve reading comprehension and academic writing skills

Requirements:

An undergraduate degree (minimum Level 6)
A teaching qualification
Extensive training in adult autism
Six National Autistic Society (NAS) Modules OR The Optimum Training Course: Autism and ADHD in Higher Education

Nice to have:

Experience working with autistic clients in education or support roles
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to build student confidence and independence
High standards of professionalism, punctuality, and confidentiality
Strong organisational skills and caseload management
