Randstad Student Support is currently seeking dedicated SpLD (Specific Learning Difficulties) Tutors for the upcoming academic year at the University of Lincoln. All successful candidates must be able to travel to the university and flexibly offer both in-person and online sessions to meet student preferences. As a Specialist-one-to-one Study Skills Support Worker with Randstad, you will provide learning support and academic guidance.
Job Responsibility
Provide learning support and academic guidance
Create an individual learning plan tailored to the student's needs that encourages them to become an independent learner
Support students to develop independence
Build on strengths and learning strategies
Create strategies for organisation and time management
Create action plans to stay on track with studies
Build on research skills - widening knowledge by using a variety of sources
Distinguish appropriate sources and how to correctly use references
Build on comprehension skills in reading and writing
Act professionally and maintain confidentiality
Share all relevant information with Randstad
Requirements
Must hold membership with one of the following professional bodies: British Dyslexia Association (BDA)
Professional Membership The Association of Dyslexia (ADSHE)
Dyslexia Guild
The Professional Association of Teachers of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties (PATOSS)
Nice to have
Experience of working with clients with specific learning difficulties
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to identify ways of helping students to build on their learning strengths whilst maintaining a confidential and professional working relationship
