Job Description

ExtraCare Charitable Trust are looking for a Student Supervisor Physiotherapist! Are you an experienced Student Supervisor Physiotherapist looking to develop your career with an award winning, forward-thinking charity? We are recruiting a Student Supervisor Physiotherapist to join our Head Office in Coventry. You will be central to supervising and mentoring physiotherapy students, providing high‑quality learning opportunities that develop their clinical skills, confidence, and professional conduct within a social care context. The ideal candidate will have previous demonstrable experience within a similar role, be flexible, motivated and adaptable to change.

Job Responsibility

  • Supervise and support physiotherapy students on placement within ExtraCare locations
  • Act as a role model for professional practice and uphold high standards of care
  • Work collaboratively with the Practice Education Facilitator to support the expansion of placement opportunities
  • Contribute to a positive and effective learning environment for students
  • Liaise with the Student Placement Team and universities as required regarding student progress and placement delivery
  • Will include routine travel across our retirement village locations

Requirements

  • Ability to effectively supervise, support, and motivate students
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback and support development
  • Good organisational skills and ability to manage workload alongside supervision responsibilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners (e.g. universities)
  • Competent IT skills for documentation and communication
  • Broad range of clinical placement experience
  • Experience of working with patients in a health or social care setting
  • Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team
  • Knowledge of physiotherapy principles, assessment, and treatment approaches
  • Understanding of professional standards and HCPC requirements
  • Awareness of safeguarding principles and responsibilities
  • Understanding of person-centred care
  • Post-qualification experience working as a physiotherapist

  • Analyze returned products for cause of failure and assist in repair of defective products
  • Work with line support workers to address material non conformances
  • Participate in lean manufacturing projects for improvement in quality, cost, and delivery
  • Monitor inventory levels of DVM parts to prevent shut down of production
  • Perform First Article Inspections (FM's) to ensure that MI fabricated and purchased parts meet tolerances
