Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) Student Health Visitor | Interviews 5/6/7th May. Hybrid role - 12 months fixed term - Full Time. Join us at Sheffield Children's, where as part of the 0-19 Health Visiting Team, you will help deliver the Healthy Child Programme to children, young people, and families. You'll work in partnership with other agencies to promote and protect health and well-being across the community. The position is subject to securing funding. Please note the salary for this position will be capped at the mid-point of Band 5, up to £34,592 per year.
Job Responsibility
Assess and identify health needs with individuals, families, and communities
Support and empower individuals, families and communities to improve their health
Deliver evidence-based care in a range of settings
Continuously evaluate and review health related care packages with service users and other professionals
Complete University-based learning as part of the Sheffield Hallam University SCPHN course
Complete practice-based learning to meet NMC standards for specialist practice
Build healthcare knowledge with a focus on disadvantaged and vulnerable communities
Develop skills to provide safe and transformational care within the 0-19 Service
Requirements
Current NMC Registered Nurse (Adult, Child, Learning Disabilities, Mental Health) or Midwife
Evidence of continuous professional development and self-directed learning
120 credits at Level 6 (degree level) or equivalent
Experience of working effectively within a team
Experience of working without direct supervision and managing own workload
Experience of applying evidence based practice and use of research
IT skills
An understanding of Public Health and the role of the Health Visitor
An understanding of the current policies relating to Health Visiting
An understanding of equality, diversity, anti-discriminatory and anti-oppressive practice
An understanding of leadership
An understanding of issues related to safeguarding
An understanding of the different approaches used in caring for children and families
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
An awareness of the demands of Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (Health Visitor) course and a commitment to succeed
Empathetic, non- judgemental and client focused
Due to the requirements to attend Sheffield Hallam University and to undertake visits and transport non-portable equipment, the post holder is required to be either a car driver with a valid licence, or have access to an alternative means of transport
