At Amegreen Children’s Services, we are looking for caring, enthusiastic, and motivated individuals to join our residential care teams supporting children and young people with learning disabilities and complex needs across our warm, therapeutic homes in West Berkshire and Hampshire. This is more than just a temporary summer role - it’s a chance to gain real-life experience in trauma-informed care, build confidence, and make a genuine difference in young people’s lives while working alongside experienced professionals in a supportive team environment.
Job Responsibility:
Build safe, trusting relationships with children and young people
Apply psychological theories (e.g. attachment, behaviour, trauma) in real-life settings
Support daily routines such as school, meals, activities, and bedtime
Help young people develop emotional regulation, confidence, and independence
Plan and engage in meaningful activities (games, creative play, outdoor activities)
Support trips such as cinema visits, bowling, museums, and seaside days
Accompany young people to school, appointments, and family time
Keep clear, accurate records to support care and safeguarding
Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and professionals
