Student Life Managers serve as vital members of the Pre-College Student Life leadership team within the Division of Pre-College and Undergraduate Programs. Student Life Managers are responsible for fostering the growth and development of seasonal staff members. This position will directly supervise a cohort of undergraduate and graduate seasonal staff, providing ongoing training, consultation, and mentorship as they develop student support, customer service, supervision, and project management skills. The Student Life Manager for Pre-College Student Life will also participate in the summer on-call rotation (night and weekend work is required).
Job Responsibility:
Promote Pre-College student development, engagement, holistic growth and well-being
Support seasonal staff development and retention
Support seasonal and graduate staff training
Support Pre-College Student Life operations
Effectively communicate and collaborate with other Pre-College Student Life Staff
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required
master’s degree in higher education, education, or a related field preferred
Experience in education/student affairs administration including administrative experience in residential, educational, or similar organizations required
Experience supervising paraprofessional staff and implementing programs preferred
Experience with crisis response and crisis management preferred
Working knowledge of principles, practices, and theories of student learning and development
understanding of the cultural, social, and educational needs of students in residential communities
Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse staff and student body and demonstrate cultural competence and inclusiveness
sensitivity to an understanding of diverse perspectives that students and staff bring to their work, including those of academic, socioeconomic, culture, race and ethnicity, ability, gender, sexuality, and intersectional identities

Move about inside the office and throughout all residence halls – encompassing ~2.1 million square feet
Due to the on-call requirements, the person in this position must be able to exercise good judgment with minimal sleep
Occasionally work in outdoor weather conditions
Due to safety concerns with minors, staff are not permitted to have guests visit and/or stay in their residential spaces
