Educated to degree level (2:1 or above only)
Hold a teaching qualification
For those working with students with Specific Learning Difficulties, a recognised specialist Students with SpLD qualification is required
Evidence of holding a full or associate professional membership at an SpLD body (PATOSS, BDA, ADSHE/PASSHE or Dyslexia Guild)
Substantial experience of working with students with disabilities and/or specific learning difficulties on a one to one basis
In depth understanding of the effects of specific learning difficulties on language and learning in an HE context
In depth knowledge of how other disabilities affect particular areas of learning
Awareness of the strengths which students with specific learning difficulties can bring to a learning situation
Skills to help students to make use of these strengths and overcome barriers to learning
Must be able to receive emails and phone calls when on location

Job Responsibility

Address issues which some students might have in acquiring, recalling and retaining information in written and spoken language
Address the range of memory, organisational, attention and numeracy difficulties that students with specific learning difficulties often face when working in an HE context
Develop students’ skills for autonomy in the learning environment
Deliver support where clear goals and timescales are of paramount importance
Provide support tailored to a student’s individual needs
Provide ongoing support throughout a student's course

5+ years of media industry experience
2+ years of education media experience
Extensive experience managing third-party vendors and independent contractors
Extensive experience managing complex budgets and ensuring adherence to budget limitations
Proven expertise in at least three of the following: video-based media creation, digital product design and creation, application of multimedia technologies in student learning environments, audiovisual editing, and/or digital media programming
Exercise management, coordinate, and oversight of all vendor, contractor, and talent cast performances, scheduling, and deliverables—ensuring all media products meet and/or exceed Adtalem standards of excellence
Be a skilled communicator and expert collaborator, able to handle criticism, facilitate design meetings, coach and mentor Educational Media Specialists and Subject Matter Experts, and deliver highly engaging media assets
Have the ability to estimate and document production costs and manage a comprehensive media project budget

Job Responsibility

Generates vision and strategy that guide media development projects and supports the operations of the Digital Learning Solutions team
Creates original visuals, audio/video, animations, tutorials, and interactives to meet the pedagogical objectives of the course and enhance student-learning outcomes
Delivers media products from conceptualization through delivery, both in a hands-on/developer capacity, as well as a leader and mentor of other media stakeholders
Manages third-party vendors and independent contractors required to ensure ample resources are available to execute the most comprehensive and challenging media projects
Collaborates with key stakeholders to create instructional material in a visually dynamic, engaging, and interactive format, while offering suggestions to enhance student engagement and learning
Maintains expert level, comprehensive knowledge of online learning principles, adult learning theory, and innovative media technologies
Works in a fast-paced production environment, collaborating with various institutional and product development stakeholders
Provides senior level leadership to and support of the project team during the development process to identify best media approaches to be used in designing, delivering, and/or supporting of specific learning content

Demonstrated expertise and completed graduate-level statistics coursework required (RSCH 8210 or equivalent)
3+ years demonstrated work experience utilizing statistics on a regular basis preferred
Superb knowledge of graduate-level statistics, college-level statistics content and courses, and statistics-specific study skills and learning strategies to help minimize adult students’ statistics fears or anxieties
Ability to provide positive, constructive feedback to adult students in conversation and in writing
Experience teaching or learning in online learning management systems preferred
Experience with additional analytical software such as Excel preferred
Ability to adapt to all levels of learners and approach students with different learning strategies to help them develop their statistics skills

Contribute to ongoing Tutoring Program initiatives related to statistics resources, short video tutorials, instructional documents, and consistent attendance to regular team meetings
Commit approximately 40 hours per month (10 hours per week) to this role, including evenings and weekends, to serve needs of a global student body
Offer at least one weekend hour of tutoring per month
Attend and complete program training with specialized ongoing tutor and content training throughout position tenure
Attend weekly peer tutor meetings lead by the Instructional Specialist
