Job Description:

A meaningful educational experience for a college student to gain valuable experience in their field of study; while accomplishing tasks and completing projects in an enriching environment. The Intern will gain networking opportunities that include interactions with CHRISTUS leaders and Associates. The Intern will be provided with a variety of projects to support learning objectives in both internal and external communications and events.

Job Responsibility:

  • Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self
  • Provides administrative support for the System Communications leaders and staff, including assisting on writing social media posts, gathering content and helping to coordinate various projects
  • Supports development of communications materials and projects by driving operational excellence, including process oversight, adherence to deadlines and ensuring proper approvals prior to deployment
  • Assists in scheduling, organizing and coordinating departmental and organization-wide meetings
  • Prepares materials and makes arrangements as needed for meetings and conferences
  • Handles confidential calls and correspondence as necessary for Communications staff
  • Maintains access to various email, news and social subscriptions and media lists, and monitors responses, directing them to the appropriate party when needed
  • Assists in the facilitation of Associate activities, promoting a culture of an engaged workplace
  • Proofreads materials, ensuring accuracy according to established brand and written style guidelines

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of college preparation towards major
  • Currently enrolled in a College degree program in one of the following degree programs: Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing
  • PC and Microsoft Office Skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively work with others
  • Quick learner with attention to detail, high degree of confidentiality and solid organizational skills
  • Needs to be resourceful, innovative and persuasive with ability to problem solve and troubleshoot
