Aurizon is seeking a Student Engineer currently studying Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering to join our Engineering team within Asset Management & Strategy. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting real-world rail infrastructure projects while working alongside experienced engineering professionals. You’ll contribute to the design, documentation and delivery of commercially focused engineering solutions that support one of Australia’s largest rail freight networks.
Job Responsibility:
Provide administrative and technical support for the design and documentation of railway engineering projects
Assist with the design and documentation of rail infrastructure solutions
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders using strong written and verbal skills
Support continuous improvement initiatives, innovation and technology development
Work collaboratively within a professional engineering team to deliver quality outcomes
Ensure compliance with safety, operational, environmental and quality management requirements
Requirements:
Current enrolment in a Bachelor of Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering, eligible for graduate membership with Engineers Australia (or equivalent)
Strong academic performance in engineering subjects
Sound engineering problem-solving skills
The ability to contribute effectively as part of a project team
Well-developed communication skills, particularly in writing clear and concise technical documentation
A proactive mindset and willingness to learn in a dynamic work environment
