Job Description

The Assistant Director of Student Engagement has responsibility for the design and implementation of successful student programs and volunteer activities for the University’s School of Arts and Sciences and Hajim School of Engineering and Applied Sciences undergraduates.

Job Responsibility

  • Design and implementation of successful student programs and volunteer activities for the University’s School of Arts and Sciences and Hajim School of Engineering and Applied Sciences undergraduates
  • Work collaboratively with Advancement and campus partners to execute class-specific and campus-wide events
  • Advise two Class Councils
  • Manage the School of Arts and Sciences and Hajim School of Engineering and Applied Sciences Student Alumni Ambassador program
  • Enhance and promote the Rochester Traditions identity and message
  • Work closely with the Director to develop strategy and vision for student programs to enhance our pipeline of engaged alumni and donors
  • Recruit and interview applicants, orient new volunteers and arrange for their training and placement

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience
  • Experience with event planning or volunteer management
  • Demonstrated ability to work with, motivate, and lead volunteers is preferred
  • Experience with collegiate events preferred
  • Outstanding communication skills, including direct interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and develop innovative programs and solutions to problems
  • Experience with computer technologies and sophisticated software applications
  • Evening and weekend work is required.
