Job Description

Randstad is seeking highly qualified, BACP counsellors to deliver specialised, clinical mental health support within the Higher Education sector at the University of Southampton. In this hybrid role, you will provide professional, short-term, solution-focused therapeutic interventions, managing a student caseload with a structured limit of 6 sessions per student. Rate of pay is £28 per sessions + £3.37 holiday pay for every hour worked.

Job Responsibility

  • Deliver tailored 1:1 counselling utilising short-term, solution-focused models adapted for university students.
  • Effectively manage a caseload split between in-person sessions at the Southampton campus and remote therapeutic work.
  • Systematically administer clinical outcome measures (e.g., CORE-10) to track and monitor treatment effectiveness.
  • Strictly adhere to institutional risk assessment and safeguarding protocols for both face-to-face and digital student interactions.

Requirements

  • Accreditation: membership with the BACP.
  • Experience: A minimum of 300 clinical hours, regular ongoing supervision, and proven experience in short-term therapeutic models.
  • Caseload Management: Demonstrated ability to manage a regular caseload and adapt strictly to a 6-session limit.
  • Flexibility: Willingness and capability to work in a hybrid capacity, including commuting to the Southampton campus for in-person sessions.
  • Insurance: Valid professional liability insurance covering both face-to-face and remote clinical practice.
