Capital City College is looking for a skilled Student Chef to support and drive key operational functions, helping shape the future of education in the heart of London.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare high-quality dishes under the supervision of senior chefs
  • Work as part of a professional kitchen brigade across a range of sections
  • Support busy service periods, including lunchtime and evening service
  • Maintain excellent food hygiene and safety standards
  • Contribute to menu preparation, prep work, and stock rotation
  • Provide a warm, welcoming experience for customers

Requirements:

  • Students currently enrolled in a Hospitality or Culinary Arts programme
  • A genuine interest in professional cookery and kitchen operations
  • Good time-keeping, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to learn, take feedback, and develop new techniques
  • Reliability and a positive attitude during busy service periods

  • Ensure team controls product cost and that financial results tie to plan driven expectations.

  • 100% Prima/Enable tablet Compliance as appropriate. Prima, Birchstreet, EBT expert and trains Culinarians as needed to maintain compliance and reduce cost.
  • Demand active and regular involvement in monitoring food quality by culinarians driven by their presence on the floor, tasting food, interacting with students and staff, and making in the moment corrections when standards aren’t met.
