Job Description:

The Keyano College Bookstore is currently seeking a Student Assistant for the 2025/2026 Academic year. The incumbent will assist with routine daily activities, provide backup coverage to Retail Operations Assistants and provide customer service leadership to the Bookstore. This role will end on or before June 30, 2026. Availability requirement - candidates must be available for a minimum of a three-hour continuous block at least 2-3 days per week to provide coverage during lunch breaks (example:10 am-1 pm).

Job Responsibility:

  • Help customers with purchases and operate the cash register
  • Act as a liaison between internal customers and the Bookstore
  • Assist with returning and receiving books, impulse items, food, and other items
  • Data entry for all items as well as physical placement on shelves with the Bookstore
  • Appropriate placement of merchandise and create special displays for specific items (e.g. seasonal displays)
  • May be required to assist with pop up shops at the SSWC for Huskies home games on evenings and weekends

Requirements:

  • Must be a currently registered full time credit student at Keyano College
  • Strong multitasking and organizational skills
  • Must be client-focused, thorough, detailed, and results-oriented as well as exhibit professionalism and sound judgment
  • Excellent communications skills, a commitment to working in a team environment, and a strong working knowledge of various software tools (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Highly dependable and punctual
  • Previous retail experience is required
