Job Description

We are looking for a Structural Supervision Engineer – Steel for one of our clients.

Job Responsibility

  • Supervise all site activities related to structural steel works (fabrication, delivery, erection, welding, bolting, and fireproofing)
  • Direct, guide, and supervise Structural Steel Inspectors, ensuring proper inspection coverage and compliance with QA/QC procedures
  • Review and approve contractor shop drawings, method statements, material submittals, and erection procedures
  • Monitor contractor performance to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes (AISC, AWS, ASCE 7), and Dubai regulations
  • Conduct site inspections for steel structure assembly, welding, bolting, and paint/fireproofing applications
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and client representatives to resolve site issues and technical queries
  • Verify alignment, dimensions, tolerances, and installation quality of large-span hangar steel structures
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety requirements and QA/QC procedures
  • Prepare site reports, progress updates, and non-conformance reports (NCRs) where necessary
  • Support testing, commissioning, and handover of completed steel works
  • Contribute to weekly/monthly project progress reports

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Structural Engineering
  • 8–12 years’ experience in supervision of structural structures for large-scale projects preferably with aviation, industrial, or large-span structures
  • Airport project experience is mandatory
  • UAE Society of Engineers (mandatory)
  • Abu Dhabi Engineering License valued
  • Dubai Municipality certificate (Unlimited) valued
  • Knowledge of International codes (ASCE-7, ASTM, AISC, AWS, EN-BS, IBC)
  • Knowledge of UAE codes and authority requirements
  • Strong understanding of structural steel design, fabrication, and erection
  • Good knowledge of QA/QC procedures for steel fabrication, painting and erection
  • Proven track record in supervising large-scale steel erection projects
  • Knowledge of welding, bolting, paint systems, and fireproofing
  • Ability to review shop drawings and method statements critically
  • Safety and quality compliance
  • Hands on structural analysis and design software ( CSI )
  • AutoCAD, Revit (BIM), Navisworks
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, Visio)
  • Strong analytical mindset, client management, communication, leadership skills and teamwork
  • Mobility across GCC/international projects
  • Ability to work effectively with contractors and multidisciplinary teams
