Performing routine maintenance, installation/integration of various types of mechanical and instrumentation components such as strain gauges, pressure transducers, thermocouples, load cells, hydraulic actuators, tubing, etc
Instrumentation applications, data collection and analysis, network maintenance, electrical assembly, soldering, crimping, fabricating various types of cables/connectors
Specialized handling, transportation, operation of one of a kind test articles and associated components
Conducts various tests or experiments which may require minor modifications in test setups or procedures as well as subjective judgments in measurement, selecting, preparing, and operating standard test equipment and records test data
May be required to operate within confined spaces
Interfacing directly with MSFC customers, technicians, and other test team members
This position will perform other duties as required to fulfill the mission of the MSFC Structural Strength Testing Branch
Requirements
Some practical knowledge of science or engineering
Some practical knowledge of mathematics
High School Graduate or GED
Nice to have
Associate degree or High School diploma and/or 3 years equivalent technical experience
Experience should include a working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems for personal computers and MS Office products
Experience with forklifts, aerial lifts, and bridge cranes
