Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across three campuses in the north-east of Melbourne and statewide. An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic Structural Heart Fellow to join our Cardiology Department for a 12-month Fellowship position from February 2027.

Job Responsibility:

  • Participate in pre- and post-procedural management of patients undergoing elective procedures via the day surgery unit and wards
  • also of those requiring in-patient procedures, originating in the Coronary Care Unit, the Intensive Care Unit and via the Emergency Department
  • Participate and assist in performing balloon aortic and mitral valvuloplasty, transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI), atrial septal defect and patent foramen ovale closures, left atrial appendage occlusion procedures, percutaneous edge-to-edge mitral valve repair, other structural heart procedures.

Requirements:

  • Be a registered Medical Practitioner in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Have completed core cardiology training of the RACP or overseas equivalent.
