Structural Graduate Engineer EI

• Under supervision of licensed engineer, develops structural engineering studies, plans, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents and assessments for commercial facilities, including new construction and renovation
• Uses Revit and other structural-specific design and calculation software to create detailed designs for construction documents
• Coordinates with code requirements to ensure proper construction practices are followed
• Selects structural materials appropriate for facilities based on coordination with architects, engineers, plans, specifications and code requirements
• Reviews construction shop drawings, performs site visits, and other construction administration activities
• Assists upper-level engineers as directed while developing engineering skills
• Writes technical engineering reports
• Reviews and redlines production plans for revisions
• Participates in and ensures QC/QA procedures are followed
• Maintains accurate design standards and procedures in assigned work
• Provides technical support and input
• Cooperates and coordinates with other internal and external engineers, designers and technicians on project activities
• Participates in internal and external project meetings as needed
• Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
• Complies with all safety policies, practices and procedures
• Performs other duties as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering (with Structural emphasis), or Civil Engineering (with Structural emphasis) from ABET accredited college or university
• One to three years’ structural engineering experience preferred
• Fundamentals of Engineering Exam passed and E.I. designation earned preferred
• Familiarity with Autodesk Revit preferred
• English language skills: ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
• ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
• ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
• Mathematical skills: ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
• ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
• Reasoning skills: ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
• Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
• Organizational skills: ability to prioritize and organize tasks
• ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Remote connectivity device (e.g., smart phone, tablet, etc.) with data plan sufficient for company requirements, including multi-factor authentication, time and mileage tracking, expense reimbursement, e-mail, and virtual communications
