Be a graduate of an accredited Engineering college curriculum (four [4]-year degree minimum AND have a minimum of six (6) years of Design Management and/or Design experience performing tasks identified herein
Structural engineer must have a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (with a structural focus)
Have demonstrated knowledge of broad-based Engineering principles and versed in the discipline being hired
Sound understanding of technical concepts, principles and practices applicable to multidisciplined engineering project design
Have demonstrated experience with performing structural analysis and design of building vertical and lateral force resisting systems, retaining structures, utility structures, or waterfront structures (piers, wharves, etc.) using DoD UFC or industry codes and standards including the International Building Code (IBC) and ASCE 7 Minimum Design Loads for Buildings and Other Structures

Bachelor’s degree in structural/civil engineering and an Illinois Structural Engineer (SE) license required
A master’s degree in structural engineering or a Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred
20+ years of experience in structural engineering with a focus on transportation projects
At least 5 years of experience in a leadership or managerial role within an engineering environment

Apply advanced knowledge of loss prevention practices in project execution
Assist in scoping projects and participate in client meetings to present approach options
Ensure all projects meet department technical standards (e.g., specifications, details)
Develop and deliver training sessions for department employees, featuring industry experts, vendors, and current trends in transportation and civil engineering
Provide ongoing oversight and involvement in projects from conceptual design phase to project completion
Collaborate with group and department managers to create and implement training plans for staff, including sourcing materials and coordinating seminars
Oversee QA/QC activities, ensuring projects meet Primera’s quality standards before documents are finalized and signed
