Job Description:

The Structural Engineer designs, analyses, and assesses structures to ensure they withstand various forces. This role involves applying engineering mechanics principles to create efficient, sustainable, and code-compliant designs for new projects or to assess and rehabilitate existing infrastructure.

Job Responsibility:

  • Structural Design & Analysis: Design structural systems (e.g., foundations, frames, beams, columns) and perform detailed analysis and calculations using hand methods and software (ETABS, Revit, STAAD.Pro)
  • Calculate load demands (dead, live, wind, seismic, snow)
  • Documentation & Compliance: Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, and reports
  • Ensure designs comply with building codes and industry standards
  • Review and approve shop drawings and material submittals
  • Collaboration & Project Management: Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, and contractors
  • Provide technical support during construction, addressing RFIs and design changes
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress and assess quality
  • Assessment & Problem-Solving: Investigate and evaluate existing structures, recommending repairs or retrofitting
  • Resolve complex structural issues

Requirements:

  • BE/B.Tech Civil or Structural Engineering
  • 3+ years in professional structural engineering
  • Expert knowledge of structural analysis and design principles
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and modeling software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, ETABS, STAAD.Pro)
  • Understanding of construction methods, materials (steel, concrete, wood, masonry), and their behavior
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills
