Structural Engineer

• work closely with colleagues of various disciplines
• prepare structural modelling, analysis and detailed calculation for multiple materials, using appropriate software
• work across a variety of sectors
• assume greater levels of responsibility and autonomy as your professional skills develop
• work and are supported towards PE registration / Chartership with IStructE, ICE or another equivalent organization

• MEng degree level (or equivalent) in Civil or Structural Engineering
• 3 to 4 years' work experience
• strong practical experience of structural engineering within a consultancy environment
• competent level of relevant IT skills, including structural design software (Tekla Structural Designer, Robot Structural Analysis, SAP2000, Tedds etc.)
• appropriate 3D geometric modelling and parametric tools, such as Rhino and Grasshopper (desirable)
• familiar with local codes of practice and authority submission and approval procedures
• proven ability to produce creative design solutions in multiple materials, including steel, reinforced concrete
• passion for creative and intuitive design
• demonstrated enthusiasm for design technology and using computational design-based solution to improve the design and performance of the built environment
• organised and methodical in your approach to managing your tasks and priorities
• strive to meet deadlines
• close appreciation of the commercial factors which affect design solutions
• excellent communication skills
• experience of using your initiative to overcome challenges
