We have an exciting opportunity available for a dynamic Structural Engineer in our growing Madison, WI office. This opportunity offers exciting project challenges while managing design teams on single and multi-discipline projects. Projects include a wide variety of new commercial buildings in the areas of healthcare, education, multi-family, hospitality, and office, as well as analysis of existing buildings and renovation projects. Every project brings a new puzzle that requires creativity, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. This position offers the opportunity to become part of a well-established structural group.
Job Responsibility:
Project engineering and management including project oversight, setting priorities, and developing objectives, project financial management as well as hands-on involvement in the design process
Serving as a technical resource for Structural team members
Lead and participate in business development activities, including proposal preparation, project interviews/presentations, and client management
Develop new business opportunities by strengthening relationships with existing clients and creating new client connections
Represent the firm at industry events, professional associations, and community activities to enhance visibility and market presence
Mentorship of less experienced staff members
Professional society involvement
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in structural design of buildings
Professional Engineer (PE) License in Wisconsin
Good communication skills and a proven track record in successfully interacting with clients and internal team members
Abilities to mentor staff and successfully lead a project team is a plus
Master's degree with a Structural focus is a plus
PE licenses in other Midwest states is a plus
Experience in Business development activities including proposal preparation, project interviews/presentations, and client management is preferred
