Structural Designer

• Assist in field documentation and observations of existing project conditions
• Be responsible for assigned components of project engineering design
• Assist in the development of BIM and or CADD models using existing documentation, plans and surveys
• Perform basic computations and analysis
• Provide coordination with the architectural and MEP teams
• Utilize BIM and or CADD software to create and modify plans, details, schedules and other Contract Documents following office standards
• Assist in the preparation of project specifications and material quantity take-offs for project estimates as directed
• Assist in review of construction period submittals
• Attend on-site observation of the work during construction to monitor compliance with Construction Documents
• Maintain up to date knowledge of Codes and Industry Design Standards

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Civil Engineering with EIT preferred
• Application to sit for FE exam is required
• 0-2 years of project related experience in building superstructure and foundation design
• Strong computer skills, including Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite
• Basic understanding of engineering design principles, drafting practices, building materials, construction methods and engineering standards
• Ability to prepare contract documents, calculations and specifications
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Detail-oriented with the ability to follow established office and design standards
• Ability to conduct research and stay current with industry trends, codes, and best practices
• Strong time-management skills including developing personal work schedules, coordinating with project manager needs, and balancing priorities
• U.S. Citizenship required due to potential access to classified information

Experience with RAM Structural System or RISA design software is desirable
